Meet the Team
April Martin-Yi, MLA
Founder & Principal April has spent nearly 20 years in the rooms where organizations get built: budget meetings with too little money, reorganizations on tight timelines, leadership transitions with too little runway. She has led across nonprofit, federal, and healthcare sectors, managed budgets of more than $18 million, and overseen a 13-site real estate portfolio.
She founded Apogee because she has seen great missions stall for lack of back-end support, and she knows firsthand what it takes to succeed. At Apogee, April leads our work in operations, leadership coaching, and AI strategy and governance.

Sungmin Yi, MS, PMP
Senior AdvisorSungmin brings nearly three decades of U.S. Air Force leadership. He started as a Korean language analyst and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), the Air Force's highest enlisted rank, after leading some of the largest training and intelligence organizations in the Department of Defense.
At the National Cryptologic School, he helped lead 500 people and a $230 million budget serving 14,000 students across 2,700 courses, roughly the size of a mid-sized university. He also directed a language program for 800 linguists that raised proficiency by 16%, and kept a 360-person team delivering for national decision-makers through 40% staff turnover.
At Apogee, Sungmin advises on program management, training and learning design, and leading large teams through change, so plans become systems that hold.
